Rey holy shrine hosts Quran recitation

One of the 30 Juzes (parts) of the Quran has been scheduled to be recited at the holy shrine of Hazrat Abdul Azim Hassani (AS) in Rey, south of the Iranian capital of Tehran.

Cultural deputy of the custodianship of Hazrat Abdul Azim Hassani (AS) shrine, Abbas Salimi, said the verses of one Juz of the Quran are being recited in Tarteel every afternoon during the holy month of Ramadan.

He also noted that the custodianship has invited a number of prominent Iranian Quran reciters for Tarteel recitation of the verses.

Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammadi-Reyshahri, the custodian of the holy shrine, is set to explain a number of interpretational points about the Juz being recited on the day, Salimi added.

He went on to say that the programs are scheduled to include speeches delivered by religious scholars and cultural-Quranic contests.

The recitations and other Quranic programs at the mausoleum are being telecast live on Iran’s national TV, IRIB.

Abdul Azim Hassani (AS), known as Shah Abdol Azim by most of Iranians, was a fifth generation descendant of Imam Hassan ibn Ali (AS) and a companion of Imam Muhammad Taqi (AS).

His holy shrine in Rey, southern Tehran, is a pilgrimage site that annually catches the attention of millions of pilgrims from across Iran and other countries around the world.
